Investment Clubs
Two independent Investment Clubs currently operate within the RNUC.
Each Investment Club meets once a month, RNUC Investment Club meeting every second Tuesday with the Reynolds Investment Club meeting every third Tuesday of the month.
At these meetings, Investment Club Members discuss their portfolio, share industry reports, and reach decisions on buying, holding, and selling.
Each Investment Club operates independently, and new Members are required to make a deposit for their share of the portfolio.
The Reynolds Investment Club (RIC) Honorary Secretary: Professor Norman K. McLennan, FRICS.
The Reynolds Investment Club (RIC) was formed over 25 years ago and is one of the oldest and respected clubs of its type in Scotland. Its purpose, covered by a modern Constitution and Rules, is to invest in Stocks and Shares for the mutual benefit of the Reynolds Investment Club and its Members, and have a bit of fun along the way. Our Membership is restricted to a maximum of 20 persons, and our numbers are always at a healthy level with a good mix of men and women. We have long standing banking and investment broker arrangements in place and we operate in strict compliance with HMRC investment club rules.
Our meetings are held regularly on every third Tuesday of the month, in the Reynolds Dining Room, RNUC, starting at 6.00pm. The meetings are presided over by the elected Chair and the day to day running of the club is undertaken by our Honorary Secretary and an Honorary Treasurer. The membership of the RIC ranges over a wide spectrum of professional and business personnel, and we embrace diversity and inclusion with a good gender mix. The business of the club is based on democratic principles’ and each member owns an equal number of shares. The Hon Treasurer reports on the investments, the value of these investments, monies available for investment and the value of each RIC unit at these meetings.
Normally, there are new member openings, and we welcome applications from prospective new Investment Club members from existing main RNUC Club members. We would encourage anyone interested to get in touch with the RIC Secretary via the main RNUC Office by emailing secretary@rnuc.org.uk and we can then arrange for attendance at one of our monthly meetings as a guest observer, with no obligation to join. In such instances, supper is normally on us!
