The Cherished Car Group
The Cherished Car Group warmly welcomes new classic car enthusiasts.
The Cherished Car Group enjoys regular outings, usually on a Sunday. Outings (or ‘runs’) take the Group all over the most picturesque parts of Aberdeenshire and its neighbouring counties, and there is always a convivial break for lunch at a convenient hostelry.
Proposed Cherished Car Run Sunday 6th July 2025
Meet Banchory – Time and location tbc.
South over the Cairn o’ Mount road, stop at the Viewpoint and continue to the Clattering Brig, past Drumtochty Church and Castle to Edzel. Continue past Kirriemuir to Glen Isla Hotel for lunch. This hotel is used to car groups and is the base for the local car club and may have some of their members attending.
The restaurant has planned a Hog Roast in addition to their usual light snacks.
Options for returning after lunch are
a) Kirkton of Glenisla and onto the A93 via Spittal of Glenshee and to Aberdeen via Braemar; approx. 2 hours driving, +/- 86 miles.
b) Explore the scenic Glenclova B955, approx. 15 miles each way
Head for Brechin, some of the small roads pop out in Brechin, avoiding the A90, then on to Montrose via the A935 and the Montrose Basin. From Montrose take the coast road A92 past Dunnottar Castle and to Aberdeen.
As one of the Zoology lecturers usually said at the end of his lecture; “More to come…”
