There are several categories of membership - Ordinary Members, those living within a 30 mile radius of the Club, are by far the most numerous. Many of today's members are actively involved in local, national and international affairs. Although they are businessmen, they know they are members of a social club, where briefcases are left closed and business talk is confined to private rooms.

The ambience of the Club has to be experienced to be appreciated. It is about good companionship and a sense of belonging in a dignified atmosphere, where old traditions have meaning and value, because they have been tested and retained.
